Blue and Pink- the colors that make Yamino go 'round. Or in this case, blue/grey and violet/pink

Okay, let's lead off with the composition, which I believe you nailed on all levels.

Everything from color to light to body position is made of contrasts and you succeeded well here. Marceline's blue/grey color palette and reticent body language does well against Bonnibell's brighter pink/white scheme and open posture. Also impressive is that despite these contrasting top layers you managed to work in the slight searching in both character's gazes, modified by your take on the character's personalities. You can see them both casting back and looking and wanting and I can't tell if that's your line work defining or just the way the characters behave (a good puzzle to see).

Seeing the characters in your webcomic's style also raises the bar and gives the characters more personality- the roundness of Bonnibell becomes more pronounced with Marceline's angles, making them just as iconic as the show's "noodle style," but more accessible in this light. To see these two interacting with this level of detail would be a treat for all.

As to drawbacks, technically speaking I can't quite reconcile the light source for Bonnibell. Examination places it in the middle- a source that allows Marceline to angle for more shadows given her scheme and Bonnibell to shine due to hers, but I don't feel like that was achieved. Perhaps less light breaks on her right side and more highlights? Or maybe adjusting the "light source" so it shines from Bonnibell to Marceline? This would compromise the balance a bit, but it could also add to the contrast.

Another note is that as taken as I am with the color scheme, I almost want a richer blue/violet for Marceline's costume to give it that level of contrast that we get over with Bonnibell. To that, you could take the whole outfit down a few shades or just make the shadows deeper to create contrast on her as a whole. Her pink background also feels flatter in comparison to Bonnibell's deep violet/grey. But I think we got into this the last time I critiqued. Perhaps I should just carry around a color wheel to show the saturation I'm thinking about.

Anywho, I look at the duet in action here and want more contrast to bump it up, but that may steal from the duality you've established with such care. To enhance the balance, I'd need more to the pink on the left as the violet/grey to the right looks like that- two near colors adding to one another while the pink is just a flat matte.

Character and composition-wise though, the work is solid as hell. I keep coming back to the angles and curves and your well-controlled line work. I lock hardest to the faces and the care you've put in there- be freaking proud of those expressions, because you got those in one.

Overall the work is pleasing and challenging on a few levels, but I am left wanting more contrast to make the rest of it pop as much as their faces.
