Sofie, Emily, and Charlie from :iconiamingrid: and my upcoming comic, "Nightingale." It's about a blind, Dutch superheroine living in Amsterdam. Emily is her half-American biracial cousin, BFF, and sidekick. And Charlie is a Filipina popstar who happens to get wrapped up in their adventures.

I am extremely rusty. I have a lot of practice to do before I get accustomed to this style! (And I’m still not entirely sure I know what the “style” of this comic is.)

Hmm... Emily looks more like a dude with her shorter, curlier hair. When I saw the first pic of her like this, I totally thought she was a new character.

There's a pretty significant height difference between Emily and Sofie. I have to wonder if Emily teases her about the height difference. I think Emily's about 5' 10", correct? So Sofie as to be around 5' tops.

Emily knows not to bring it up. It's a sore topic for Sofie, since everyone treats her like a kid. Emily's one of the only people who doesn't. =)

(But that doesn't mean everyone else doesn't comment on it all the time, much to Sofie's chagrin...)

It makes sense. Maybe if Sofie's lucky, she's still due in for one more growth spurt. She's 15 years old, so there is still a small chance she has some time left to grow.

It makes me wonder if her becoming a crime fighting superhero of sorts is partially fueled by the desire to be seen as something other than someone who is cute and helpless.

Um, I'm pretty sure 'mulatto' is considered offensive in some parts of the world >_> (That's what they told us when I was a kid, never call someone a mulatto; it was used by colonizers --at least in Puerto Rico-- with derogatory intentions).

That said, I love especially the profile pics. You can really tell each character from their facial structure and design :D
